The Vampire Foxes come to Earth to replenish a dwindling blood supply on their home planet.
Writer, Director, Producer, SFX, Artistic Director – sets and staging. Set design and construction, wardrobe, props and all manner of blood and body part distribution…
Kyle entered the film scene in Alaska after getting “The bug” while volunteering for the 2009 Anchorage International Film Festival. Kyle’s company, Söm Ep’Laceak media was then born . Kyle founded “The Alaska Horror Network” in 2010. The focus of this group was to network and promote film-making in Alaska while focusing on Horror. In 2014 Kyle worked again with the film festival both screening and programming the horror portion of the festival. Kyle and his daughter have been featured as the cover story of the Anchorage Press’ Halloween edition. Kyle is well known for use of practical effects. Whether it involves flowing, spraying, or spewing blood, tissue, or body parts. Custom sets, Pyrotechnics, and many other one off custom styled effects are a calling card.
Vampire foxes….from SPACE! began as an inspiration to make a fake trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist. After screening at a theater in my hometown of Anchorage, Alaska the crowd response was such that I just had to pursue the film. The short film version we have here is pulled from a much larger story/world to showcase a part of that story with the intent of garnering interest that we may be able to turn it into the feature length film. To maintain it’s retro “groove” there is little CGI in the film. Most all imagery and special effects are practical in camera and shot on 4 full size sets, 4 miniature sets, a life size rocket prop, 2 on site locations, and 3 apparatus built to produce special effects. All music is custom written and performed specifically for the film or pulled from my own musical projects. Additional music is from songs also by the films composers. This film was done on a micro budget. All sets etc. were built primarily by using salvaged materials, (there are descriptions of the sets on our facebook page). Cast and crew is due to close networking in Alaska. Many of us have been working together or within our local film community for a number of years on film challenges and various other projects. With Vamp foxes we came together to have fun and make a go of it with the hopes that it might find an audience. My primary goal was to make a film within my means that people will have a lot of fun viewing. I hope you enjoy.
